INNOboot FITTING INSTRUCTIONS:
With the resident in a supine position, flex the knee to 45 degrees or as close to 45 degrees as comfort will allow.
Place the patient’s foot in the INNOboot insuring that the sole of the foot rests on the base of the splint.
Check to insure that the heel is floating free in the splint.
ADJUSTING THE TOE POSTS:
Loosen the round nut on the bottom of the INNOboot . Position the Toe Post to extend beyond the toes, protecting the toes from the bedding. Tighten the round nut.
When placing the patient in a side lying position, the Toe Post may be positioned to hold the foot off the bed minimizing pressure on the side of the foot. Loosen the round nut on the bottom of the INNO-boot. Turn the Toe Post to the side in which the patient will be lying. Tighten the round nut.
ROTATION BAR:
The rotation bar may be used to aid in the control of internal or external rotation of the lower extremity.
a. Loosen the round nut on the back of the INNOboot.
b. Place the rotation bar to the side in which the leg is rotating.
c. Tighten the round nut; never remove the round nut.
